Rooted in over five generations of family pottery craftsmanship.

Pottery has always been part of my life.
I grew up surrounded by clay, wheels, kilns, and the hands of my grandfather and father, both deeply dedicated to the craft of traditional Portuguese ceramics. Through them, I inherited not only technical knowledge, but also a profound respect for materials, process, and the patience required to shape something by hand.
Years later, while studying Architecture, I began to see ceramics differently. Beyond function, I became interested in form, proportion, balance, and the relationship between objects and space. This perspective continues to inform my work today.
Pottery by Bruno was born from the meeting of these two worlds: generations of ceramic craftsmanship and a contemporary approach to form.
Each piece begins on the wheel, drawing from traditional pottery techniques passed down through my family. Yet the process does not end there. Once thrown, the form is reshaped by hand — cut, altered, joined, and transformed into something more organic, expressive, and sculptural.
Rather than pursuing perfect symmetry, I am interested in movement, tension, and the subtle traces of the maker’s hand.
Every piece becomes a dialogue between structure and spontaneity, control and gesture.
Today, Pottery by Bruno creates limited ceramic collections for architecture, interiors, and hospitality projects across Europe.
The studio carries forward a family heritage of pottery while exploring new possibilities in contemporary ceramic form.
