Studio Terms

TERMS & CONDITIONS

We work closely with a limited number of clients across retail, hospitality, and design-led brands who value craftsmanship, material integrity, and considered production processes.

Each piece is handmade and produced to order in our studio. These terms are designed to ensure clarity, support a smooth production process, and establish a long-term working relationship based on trust, consistency, and mutual respect.

  1. Sales Approach & Communication

These Terms & Conditions apply to all collaborations between the Studio and the Client.

We remain open to reviewing specific requirements in advance. Any agreed adjustments will always be confirmed in writing by the Studio.

Clear and direct communication is essential to ensure a smooth and efficient collaboration throughout the production process.

  1. Commercial Offer & Order Confirmation

Prior to any production, the Client receives a Commercial Offer including product specifications, dimensions, finishes, packaging details, sample references, and these Terms & Conditions.

This allows time to fully review the nature of the collection and the characteristics of handmade production.

By confirming an order, the Client accepts:

• the Commercial Offer
• the approved sample set
• these Terms & Conditions

Each order confirms that the Client understands the artisanal nature of the work, where variation is an inherent and intentional part of the process.

  1. Supplying Models & Collection Development

We offer two distinct ways of working, depending on the nature of the project and the intended use of the collection.

3.1 Standard Supply

This model is intended for Clients who wish to acquire pieces without exclusivity or long-term production commitment.

Under this model:

• Orders are placed on a flexible basis, subject to studio availability
• There are no minimum continuity requirements
• Pieces are produced as part of our ongoing production cycle
• The Studio may develop similar works for other Clients

This model is suited to Clients who wish to integrate the Studio’s work into their offering without establishing a dedicated collection framework.

3.2 Dedicated Collection Supply

This model is intended for Clients developing a dedicated ceramic collection for their brand.

Each collection is developed as a close collaboration between the Studio and the Client, defining form, colour, glaze, finish, and production parameters.

Exclusivity applies to the specific combination developed for the Client. This combination will not be reproduced for other Clients within the same intended application and commercial context.

Individual elements such as forms, glazes, finishes, and techniques remain part of the Studio’s evolving design language and may be further developed in future work.

To ensure continuity and coherence of the collection, the following applies:

• The initial order must be placed within three (3) months of sample approval
• The collection is expected to remain active with no gaps exceeding six (6) months between production runs
• Replenishment orders are subject to a minimum value of €1,500

This structure ensures the continuity, consistency, and integrity of the collection over time.

3.3 Studio Practice

All research, prototypes, and production methods developed by the Studio remain part of its ongoing creative practice and contribute to future collections and material exploration.

During the development process, the Studio may introduce formal, material, or technical variations as part of its research-led practice. These developments are considered an integral part of the design evolution and not a deviation from the original concept, but rather its material interpretation through making.

The Studio works directly with its Clients and does not operate through intermediaries.

  1. Artisanal Nature & Variation

All pieces are handmade in ceramic using traditional wheel-throwing and forming techniques.

Each object carries natural variation in shape, glaze, texture, and tone. These variations are not defects but an essential part of the material expression.

No two pieces are identical, and this individuality defines the identity of the collection.

Samples are produced as representative sets across sizes and forms within a given collection. Once approved, these samples define the visual and material range of the production.

Production is carried out in batches aligned with the approved sample set. Variations between pieces are expected and accepted within the agreed aesthetic range.

Consistency is therefore assessed at collection level rather than at individual piece level.

Prior to dispatch, the Studio may provide photographs and video documentation of the completed production batch for review and approval.

Such documentation serves as a quality control reference, allowing the Client to verify that production remains within the approved sample range and agreed collection parameters.

The Client acknowledges that approved samples serve as representative references and not exact replicas of future production.

Production is deemed compliant when the completed batch remains recognisably within the same visual family as the approved samples, sharing common formal characteristics, surface qualities, colours, and expressive effects while preserving the individuality of each handmade piece.

  1. Pricing

All prices are stated in Euros and exclude transport.

Prices remain valid for twelve (12) months from the date of the Commercial Offer.

From the second order onwards, pricing may be reviewed based on production volume, collaboration continuity, and payment reliability.

  1. Orders & Production Planning

Each production order is subject to a maximum value of €6,000.

Orders exceeding this amount may be divided into separate production batches at the Studio’s discretion.

Orders are placed via email using the official client order format.

Production is scheduled individually for each Client.

Delivery dates are estimated and determined solely by the Studio according to production capacity, technical requirements, drying and firing conditions, and ongoing commitments.

Any requested adjustments should be communicated at least five (5) weeks prior to the anticipated delivery date.

Once production has begun, cancellations are not possible, as materials and production time are already allocated.

Refusal of completed goods may result in full invoicing of the order.

  1. Payment Terms

Production Orders

A 50% deposit is required to initiate production.

The remaining balance is due within seven (7) days of receipt of the goods by the Client.

Ownership of goods remains with the Studio until full payment is received.

Late or outstanding payments may result in suspension of ongoing or future production.

No new production order will be scheduled, accepted, or commenced while any previous invoice remains partially or fully unpaid.

Samples

The development and production of sample sets are subject to a fixed fee of €250, payable in advance.

This fee contributes towards the research, development, materials, production time, testing, and logistics involved in creating the sample collection.

Sample production begins upon receipt of payment.

Progress images may be shared during production for reference purposes only.

Once completed, samples are submitted for review. The Client may approve the collection, request additional samples (subject to additional cost), or discontinue the project.

For production orders with a minimum value of €3,000, the €250 sample fee will be credited against the first order.

Should the project not proceed to production, the sample fee remains payable and is non-refundable.

  1. Transport

All goods are sold EXW (Ex Works) from the Studio premises.

Transport, insurance, and risk transfer to the Client upon collection from the Studio.

At the Client’s request, the Studio may assist in coordinating transport. This support is provided as a courtesy only.

Production is supported by a structured logistics system enabling international distribution at scale.
